Well, how are we supposed to understand the artist's intention?

Most scholars have rejected the idea of using the artist's 'intention' to decode a work...Why should they tell us what a work is about?

i don't see this as intended to turn on because of the way the color's mussed up. it seems like it tries to go there but is stunted by artistic endeavor. unless it's just an appropriation, then i'd be fucked.
